The Lady Wildcats added three more to their win column last week with two close games and one blowout victory.
Hosting Mogollon on Tuesday, the Lady Cats picked up 11 points from Mackenzie Fields and Taylor Hill added 9, which helped them overcome a pesky Lady Mustang squad to win the game 38-36.
Joseph City shot a dismal 19 percent from the field, but still picked up the crucial win. Kristin Baldwin helped with 7 points and 11 boards. Searra Hansen scored 5, Brianna Massey, 4, and Brooke Baldwin, 2.
On Friday night the Lady Cats hosted St. Michael and used big performances from Massey and Hansen, who scored 16 points each, to help secure a 54-48 region win. Mackenzie Fields and Hill netted 8 each, Kristin Baldwin, 4, and Brooke Baldwin, 2. The Lady Cats shot a little better in this game, connecting on 24 percent of their attempts. At the free throw line, they went nine for 27.
On Saturday Joseph City faced an outmatched White Cone squad and came away with a 63-28 win. Several players scored for Coach Bryant in the big win. Hansen had 15, Madison Fields, 12, Brooke Baldwin, 9, Heidi Hunsaker, 8, Mackenzie Fields, 6, Kayla Hughes and Kristin Baldwin, 4 each, Massey, 3, and Hill, 2. Hansen also had a big night on the boards, pulling down 18 rebounds in the win.
This week the Lady Wildcats have three big games which will determine their final region standing for the tournament. After playing Mogollon on Tuesday at Heber, they will be at St. Michael on Friday, Jan. 28. Saturday is Senior Night, when they are slated to host Rock Point.
