Warren Drew Petersen, 83, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, in Snowflake. Funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock this afternoon (Jan. 26) at the Snowflake Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral services. Burial will be at the R.V. “Mike” Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
He was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Clay Springs to Theodore and Margaret Hancock Petersen.
Warren was married to Violet Marie Ramsay on Jan. 22, 1950, in Snowflake.
He served in the Army during the Korean conflict.
Warren was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who loved cattle, the outdoors and logging. He worked for Southwest Forest for 40 years, retiring in 1992. He also enjoyed square dancing and fishing.
Survivors include his six children, Michael Warren Petersen, Darlene Marie (Billy Lloyd) Owens, Wilford Lynn (Wendy) Petersen, Denny Ray (Jeanie) Petersen, Russell Scott (Nina) Petersen and Kenda Jo (Chris Howle) Petersen; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Violet Aagard.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Snowflake is in charge of the arrangements.
