The Roadrunners defeated the Winslow Bulldogs 46-38 in a 3A North Region basketball game played in Holbrook on Tuesday. The win improved Holbrook’s record to 21-4 for the season and dropped Winslow to 20-6 for the season. It was the Bulldogs’ first 3A North Region loss, leaving them 4-1 in the conference.
The Roadrunners had a 14-11 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Winslow led 26-23 at the half and the game was tied at 34-34 after three quarters of play. A disastrous fourth period that saw the Bulldogs only score four points to 12 for the Roadrunners decided the contest.
Kory Koerperich led all scorers with 14 points for Holbrook, followed by Jalen Jackson with 10. Kraig Shirley and Jevon Estelle each scored 12 points for Winslow, but no other Bulldog scored more than five points.

Winslow will host Monument Valley tonight (Jan. 28) and Window Rock on Saturday before hosting Tuba City on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be at Window Rock on Thursday, Feb. 2, and host Holbrook for an important rematch the following night.
