Duane “D.” Ellis Walton, 62, of Phoenix passed away in his sleep early Feb. 2, 2011. Graveside services were held Feb. 21 at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor.
He was born in Phoenix on Jan. 8, 1949, and had lived in Phoenix, Snowflake and Payson.
He served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Duane was a very talented farrier and was a horse trainer.
His hobbies included being a rock hound, hunting and caring for horses.
Duane was married three times and had a son from each marriage.
Survivors include his sons, Duane Ping, Duane Walton and Clayton Locker-Walton; two ex-wives, Sue Walton and Kay Locker Walton; three brothers, Donald Gene Walton, Travis Clifton Walton and Warner Holden Walton; and his sister, Alison Neff.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vernon Ellis Walton and Mary Luceil Holden; his sister, DiAnne Dooley; and an ex-wife, Saima Ping Walton.
Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor was in charge of the arrangements.
