Marvin Lee Beeson, 49, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, in Winslow. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at the Sunlight Community Church in Second Mesa, with Pastor Scott Wight officiating. Interment followed at Sunlight Community Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 27, 1961, in Ft. Defiance.
Marvin was last employed with The Hopi Tribe as an environmental specialist. He received his Technical Associate Degree in architectural drafting from Phoenix Institute of Technology, and held various jobs as a draftsman, land surveyor, and hazardous and environmental specialist.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, softball, football and hunting.
Marvin was a member of the Sunlight Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, Arnette Silas Beeson; two daughters, Rachelle Nicole Beeson and Andrea Lea Beeson; two sisters, Terri Beeson and Jennifer Beeson-Apachee; two brothers, Myron Beeson and Darryl Beeson; his mother, Georgia Beeson; four aunts, Mildred Nayatewa, Marcella Butler, Kathleen Kahee and Karen Beeson; and an uncle, Carlton Beeson
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Beeson; and two aunts, Delores Soto and Priscilla Pewo.
Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
