Jacquelyn R. Narkey Cavalliero, 62, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at her home in Overgaard. Services will be held at a later date.
She was born June 29, 1948, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Frank and Martha Narkey. She was raised in Youngstown, graduating from Liberty High School in 1966.
She attended Central Arizona College and Arizona State University.
In the 1980s she worked as a charge nurse for the prison in Florence, then returned to school and received her master’s degree from ASU. She taught at Carl Hayden High School for 13 years, retiring in 2010 and moving to Overgaard eight months ago. She regularly visited the senior center, and had plans to open a thrift store in Overgaard.
She loved her grandkids, and had helped her mother tremendously following her father’s death.
Survivors include her daughter, Erika Huffman-Friedman and husband Bruce of Scottsdale; two sons, Derek Huffman of Queen Creek, and Sandor Garnet and wife Stephanie of Show Low; her mother, Martha Narkey of Mesa; a sister, Bonnie Bustamante and husband Andy of Maricopa; and five grandchildren, Edward Huffman, Sophie, Sarah and Summerlin Friedman, and Emily Garnet.
Black’s Mortuary of Show Low was in charge of the arrangements.
