*Agate House

Photo by David Velk Agate House was an eight-room structure built approximately 900 years ago using petrified wood as building blocks. Work on the site at Petrified Forest National Park originally began in the 1930s and these two rooms were reconstructed. Last fall they were given some long overdue care through a restoration project. The celebration of Arizona Archaeology and Heritage Awareness Month continues this weekend at Petrified Forest.
