Against the Lady Cougars on Tuesday in Show Low, Mallory Smith worked all five innings of the game shortened due to the 10-run mercy rule. She allowed one run on two hits and a walk while fanning eight.
Winslow scored five times in the second inning on a single by Perez, a walk, a triple by Huerta, singles by Stacey, Haley Hayes and Lymer, and an error. The lead grew to 6-0 in the top of the third inning on a double by Jaleisa Hayes. It became 9-0 in the top of the fourth on a triple by Haley Hayes after a walk. A home run by Perez plated the final run of the inning.
Show Low scored on a single and a stolen base in the bottom of the fourth, but the Lady Bulldogs plated three more runs in the top of the fifth, which was enough to bring the mercy rule into effect when the Lady Cougars failed to score in the bottom of the frame. Haley Hayes was four for four with a double and a triple. Perez was two for three with a home run. Jaleisa Hayes was two for three with a double. Lymer was two for four with a triple. Taylor Baca was one for two. Huerta was one for three with a triple. Ulibarri was one for three.
