JoAnn Lee Packer, 75, of Taylor passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011. A viewing was planned from 6 to 8 o’clock Thursday evening at Silver Creek Mortuary, located at 745 Paper Mill Road in Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock this morning (April 15) at the Centennial Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 800 N. Centennial Blvd. in Taylor, with an additional visitation beginning at 9 a.m.
She was the second of four children born to Carl Lee and Emma Huber Lee on Oct. 11, 1935, in Mesa.
On Oct. 9, 1954, she married C.H. Packer Jr. in the Mesa Temple. In 1970, the family moved to Taylor.
JoAnn loved her family and the people of Taylor. She was a lifelong member of the LDS church. She was active in many church callings, and loved serving the people of the Snowflake and Taylor stakes. She especially enjoyed her callings with the Young Women.
She attended White Salmon, Wash., North Phoenix and graduated from Glendale High School in 1953. She then attended Lambson Business College.
She loved music, books and most of all, crocheting.
Survivors include her loving Mr. Sweetheart, C.H. Packer Jr.; her children, Charles Howland Packer III of Payson, Carylyn Packer of Taylor, Karl R. Packer of Midvale, Utah, Kevin L. Packer of Overgaard, John K. Packer of Yelm, Wash., and Craig L Packer of Seattle, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Lee and Emma Huber Lee.
