The Snowflake Lobos won two of their three final games last week, easily cruising past Ganado in both games of a doubleheader on Tuesday, then falling at home to Show Low on Friday.
Snowflake scored 11 first inning runs in the first game of the twin bill, then added 10 more in the second en route to a 28-7 win. In the second game the Lobos slowed their scoring, but still won in five innings by an 11-1 final score.
In the second game Trevor McNeil went two for two with a double, two RBIs and scored twice. Braccin Tanner was one for three with an RBI. Devin McNeil was zero for two, but walked, stole one base and scored a run. Nate Kelly went two for four with an RBI and scored three runs. Garett Larsen was one for three with a double, an RBI and scored a run. Jarom Beecroft went two for four with two RBIs. Gr Adams was zero for two, but walked, had an RBI and scored a run. Colton Solomon went one for three with a double, a walk, an RBI, stole one base and scored a run. Freddie Pinkley went two for four with an RBI and scored two runs.
On Friday the Lobos fell behind early as Show Low pushed across 11 runs in the first inning. The Cougars added 3 more in the second and never let the Lobos get back in the East Region contest, winning the game 22-3 in five innings.
Dane Hancock went zero for one, but walked and scored. Tanner Yellowhair was one for two with an RBI. Tanner went one for one with a sacrifice and an RBI. Trevor Reddick was zero for three, but scored a run. Ricky Montejano collected one RBI. Adams went one for one.
Yellowhair pitched three innings, facing 26 batters. He allowed 15 runs, only two earned, on nine hits with one strike out and three walks. Adams worked two innings, facing 17 batters. He gave up seven runs, five earned, on five hits with two strikeouts and four walks.
The Lobos head to the 3A East Regional Tournament as the fourth seed. They will have faced fifth seeded Alchesay on Tuesday, and with a win they would play top seeded Blue Ridge at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, in Lakeside. Entering the regional tournament as the overall 18th ranked team in power points, the Lobos need to place at least third in the regional tournament to earn a state tournament bid. Payson finished as the No. 3 seed and Round Valley is the No. 6 seed. Show Low is the second seed, and will await the winner of the Payson-Round Valley game.
