Steven Earl Taylor, 69, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at his home in Holbrook. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at the St. Johns Cemetery.
Earl was born in Holbrook on March 22, 1942, to Lloyd M. Taylor and Lucille (Davie) Taylor, the former proprietors of the Arizona Rancho Motel.
He was mechanically inclined and inventive, able to create useful results from his own hands.
Earl was an independent man from an earlier Arizona, who valued practicality and honesty. He was sensible and generous, a good neighbor with a wry, earthy humor, and an important part of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; and his brothers, Charles and Tom. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook was in charge of the arrangements.
