The long awaited replacement of two traffic signals in Winslow, located at the intersections of Second and Third streets and Williamson Avenue, will begin on Monday, May 23.
Construction on this project will last for approximately four months while crews replace the traffic signals, remove and replace sections of curb and gutter, install sidewalk/access ramps and pave the intersections.
The first phase of construction will involve the complete closure of the Third Street and Williamson Avenue intersection for approximately 30 days. There will be marked detour routes for this closure.
Other work will also be going on at the Second Street and Williamson Avenue intersection, where there will be lane restrictions. Motorists should expect delays in the downtown area while work is being completed. Access to all businesses will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.
As always, drivers are reminded to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
