Cody Joseph Cordova, 20, tragically died on Sunday, June 12, 2011, in Winslow. Holy Rosary was to be recited at 7 o’clock Thursday evening at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Winslow, with a viewing during the rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 o’clock this morning (June 17) at the church, with Father Frank Chacon officiating. He will be laid to rest immediately following in Desert View Cemetery in Winslow.
He was born Aug. 7, 1990, in Flagstaff.
Cody was a 2008 Winslow High School graduate, employed by Safeway Inc. for the last four years and currently preparing to enlist in the United States Marine Corps.
Cody loved life and lived it to the fullest in anything he did.
Survivors include his loving parents, Joe Cordova and Debra J. Harms; his grandparents, Leroy and Jean Harms; two brothers, Steve (Andrea) Cordova and Andy (Rachel) Cordova; his big little sister, Kathy (Doug) Warren; his Uncle Bill (Jill) Harms; four nieces, Jolena, Andrea, Shyenne and Adrianna; two nephews, Chase and Cooper; and numerous loving friends.
He was preceded in death by Olivia Cordova; great-grandpa, John Carrell; his uncles, Florence, Andy, Johnny and Alex Cordova; and most recently, his great-grandma, (Darlin) Minnie Carrell.
Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
