Winslow was the first city in the state to have its own municipal airplane. It was a Kreutzer tri-motor plane purchased from Navajo Airways, Inc. The company had used the plane to offer trips to view the local sights and for occasional ambulance services. The city had the plane painted with a portrait of a Navajo on it along with the name of the town. It was used to fly council members and city officials around the state.
