On July 6, two Pinetop men were arrested after an explosive device was found on the porch of a Pinetop Country Club homeowner.
Adam Ranstrom, 18, and his brother, Spencer Ranstrom, 23, were arrested by Navajo County Sheriff’s deputies after an investigation revealed Adam Ranstrom was possibly making an improvised explosive device in his home near Mallard Circle in Pinetop. While searching the home, deputies also located an alleged marijuana growing operation inside the residence.
Adam Ranstrom was booked into the Navajo County Jail in Holbrook on charges of misconduct involving weapons, misconduct involving explosives, depositing explosives, misconduct involving simulated explosive devices, production and possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Spencer Ranstrom was booked for production and possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The suspects were not held on bond, but were released on their own recognizance by Judge David Widmaier.
