Kenneth LaVerl Penrod, 65, went home to join our Father and his father on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011. Services were held Sept. 5 at the Taylor Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment followed at the Shumway Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 20, 1946, in McNary.
From the time he was young he loved to learn and read, and this continued throughout his life.
He was a Jack of all trades and loved to work with his hands. He loved a good joke and loved to laugh.
Kenneth served his country in Vietnam, and continued to love and serve his country throughout his life. He passed this love on to his family.
He loved to work with youth and served as a Little League president, he also served for years in scouting, as well as many other callings in the church.
Survivors include his mother, Beulah Penrod; his wife, Janet; his kids and spouses, Corky, Lamell, Troy, Jeffrey, Jeremy, Rachelle, Heather, Becca, Stephanie and Kristin; and his 12 grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Penrod.
Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor was in charge of the arrangements.
