Snowflake’s Lady Lobos dropped both soccer matches they played last week, losing on the road to St. Johns and Blue Ridge.
Playing at St. Johns on Thursday, the Lady Lobos stayed close in the first half, trailing by just one goal. In the second half they scored two more on offense, but defensively they gave up three to the home team, eventually losing the game 5-3.
Snowflake had nine shots on goal. Kiana Natividad made good on her only shot attempt, as did Alexis Bateman. Sherika Peterson took four shots, with one finding the mark. Shelbi Rawlins had one assist and one shot attempt. Rebekah Cox took two shots.
In goal, Ashleigh Turley allowed five goals, but turned away 17 St. Johns attempts.
On Saturday the Lady Lobos made the short trip to Lakeside, where they were shut out by the Blue Ridge Lady Yellowjackets, 4-0.
Snowflake managed 14 shot attempts, but all missed the mark.
Turley had 11 saves in 60 minutes of action and Lindsay Webb had four saves in 20 minutes as keeper for the Lady Lobos.
With the two losses the Lady Lobos fell to 5-7 overall. They will host Show Low today (Sept. 28), then see plenty of action at the Old Pueblo Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, in Tucson.
