The Holbrook Lady Roadrunners’ power point volleyball match record dropped to 5-5 on the season following a rough trip to Heber Tuesday night, where they fell in three straight games to a good Mogollon team. Despite competing in the lowest division in the state, Mogollon has a talented group that has fared very well against upper level teams, compiling an overall record of 10-0 in non-tournament matches.
Holbrook came up short in the first match, dropping it 25-16. The second game wasn’t that close, with Mogollon prevailing 25-13, then the Lady Mustangs closed out the match by winning game three 25-20.
The Lady Birds had a tough time with their power game, finishing the match with just 27 kills against a tall Lady Mustang lineup. Aaren LaRose ended with six kills, an assist and seven digs. Tess Baldonado added seven kills with one assist, three digs and a block. Bethany Baldwin counted for five kills, an assist, six digs and a block. Samantha Smith finished with four kills and four digs. Corazon Alvarado had three kills and three digs. Shantina Kinlincheenie added a kill, five assists and six digs. Kellin Bakurza helped with 12 assists, served an ace and had one dig. Maria Garcia added three digs. Shandie Demuth had two assists and two digs. Tamika Baldwin finished with one kill, three assists and a dig. Tiffany Haskie added three digs.
