Members of the Winslow High School Grand Canyon Club completed 10 hours of service in the community last Saturday morning by picking up trash along the Ramada section of McHood Park Reservoir in order to participate in a four-day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon beginning April 20. By completing community service projects prior to the trip, school officials believe students will gain some insight as to why doing things for other people or the environment are worthy pursuits. Students also are required to complete an educational project that they will present on the river. Those helping with the clean up included (front row, left to right) Sydney Poolheco-Amavisco, Jayme Polston, Aimee Wong, (middle row) Al-Ray Mariano, Jordan Bradford, Savannah Vasquez, (back row) Sean Bekay and Brooke Pollard.
