Snowflake survived a rough crowd and some tough circumstances in Payson’s gym last Tuesday, yet still returned to Lobo country with a hard earned, 64-56 win.
“That gym is just not set up to host a good basketball game, and we had to overcome several obstacles to get out of there with a win, but our guys got the job done,” said Coach Andy Wood.
The Lobos trailed by three at the end of both the first and second periods, but came out in the third period hitting three consecutive three-point shots to take the lead. Payson battled back to lead just once more before Snowflake eventually moved out in front for good. In the fourth the Lobos netted 23 points to garner the eight-point win.
Tanner Yellowhair led the way with 17 points. Chase Walden overcame a tough crowd and finished with 13. Jake and Rick Shumway added 9 each. Dustin Baldwin ended with 6, Reggie Peterson added 4, and Dallin Merrell and Braccin Tanner helped with 3 each.

Having hosted unbeaten Holbrook on Monday, the Lobos will have an extended break before competing in early January after the Christmas break.
