Chester Taylor Morris, 86, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, in Pinetop. Funeral services were held Dec. 28 at the Holbrook Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial was at the Holbrook Cemetery with military honors.
He was born July 13, 1925, in Indian Wells to Tsi Cody Ni Bega and Yegehnabah Bega.
Chester served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945. He was a rancher and loved to travel.
Chester worked for the Navajo Nation in the Community Alcoholism Program and as a former chapter official in Indian Wells. He worked for Local No. 383 Labor Union and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his brothers, Willie Morris Sr. of Dilkon and Carlos T. Morris of Indian Wells; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Morris, on July 5, 1996.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook was in charge of the arrangements.
