Arthur Yazzie Sr., 84, passed away on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, in Flagstaff. Graveside services were held Jan. 5 at the Indian Wells Community Cemetery, with Pastor James Paddock officiating.
Arthur was born Aug. 22, 1927, in Teesto.
Survivors include his wife, Jane S. Yazzie of Dilkon; five daughters, Lorraine Turtle of Dilkon, Lucy Hatatali-Nez (Larry) of Tuba City, and Gloria Estrada-Lovo (Nelson), Rose Ann Yazzie and Lola Kuntzwiler, all of Phoenix; four sons, Clifford Yazzie (Elizabeth) of Dilkon, Arthur Yazzie Jr. (Eula) of White Cone, Art Lee Yazzie of Dilkon and Richard Yazzie of Phoenix; 32 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, Taheenii Yazzie; his mother, Ateedii Yazzie; two sons, Harry Yazzie and Clifton Freddie; a daughter, Nellie Yazzie; and a brother, Lewis Yazzie.
Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
