Frances Dale Spurlock Greer Stockl, 79, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at her daughter’s home in Long Beach, Calif., after a five-year battle with cancer. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Holbrook Stake Center, and will be preceded by viewing beginning at 10 a.m. Her body will be interred at the Eagar Cemetery in Eagar at 4 o’clock on Saturday afternoon.

Frances was born in Globe to Ransom Crockett Spurlock and Georganna Bushman, and was the oldest of six children.

She attended Stephen’s College in Columbia, Mo. She returned home, where she met and married Lacy Camp Greer on Dec. 30, 1957, in Navajo.

Frances and Lacy had 5 children, Gregory Lee, Lacy Camp II, Marcy Elizabeth, Nancy Georganna and Frances Dodd.

Lacy preceded her in death on May 18, 1985.

On Dec. 10, 1989, Frances married Karl Joseph Stockl in Scottsdale. Karl passed away on Dec. 1, 2010.

Frances lived the majority of her life in Holbrook. She loved the people and enjoyed serving them. Her generosity, charity, kindness and zest for life were endearing attributes.

A one-of-a kind mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Frances dearly loved her five children, 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
