The Bulldogs of Winslow High split their weekend contests on the court, defeating Flagstaff and falling to Monument Valley, leaving them with an 11-12 record on the season.
The Bulldogs won a tight game, 49-44, over the visiting Flagstaff Eagles on Friday.
The home squad led 8-6 after the first period of play, with Tyler Williams scoring all of Winslow’s points in the quarter and the first 10 in the game. The Bulldogs were up 22-17 at the half and 35-26 after three quarters, but Flagstaff clawed back to within a single point with four minutes left in the game and the contest was decided in the closing minutes of play.
Tremayne Nez led the Bulldogs in scoring with 20 points including 10 of 14 free throw shooting. Williams finished in double figures with 17 points.
Collum Long led Flagstaff with 19 points and Ryan Townsend was also in double figures with 14 points for the Eagles.

The Monument Valley Mustangs came from behind in the second half to defeat the Bulldogs 70-63 in a game played in Kayenta on Saturday.
The Bulldogs led 21-12 after the first period of play and 32-22 at the half. Monument Valley cut into the margin in the third quarter, but still trailed 48-43 entering the final period. The Mustangs outscored Winslow 27-15 in that period to take the victory.
Chad Keith paced Monument Valley with 25 points and tied Tyler Williams of Winslow for game high honors. Michael Goldtooth was also in double figures for Winslow with 16 points. Wyatt Tuni with 14 points and Jaron James with 13 were also in double figures for the Mustangs.

The Bulldogs were slated to host the Holbrook Roadrunners on Tuesday and will host the tough Page Sand Devils on Thursday, Jan. 26. Only a pair of road games at Coconino and Tuba City remain in the regular season after the Page game.
