The Winslow Lady Bulldogs began their softball season with a 2-0 win over Flagstaff in Winslow on Wednesday. Unfortunately, the score sheet for that game was not available at press time.
On Thursday, the Lady Bulldogs journeyed to Holbrook and shut out the Lady Roadrunners 18-0 for their second victory in as many games.
Taylor Baca went the distance in the Holbrook game to get the win. The game was shortened to five innings under the mercy rule, and she allowed just two hits and four walks while fanning two.
Halle Hayes was four for four at the plate for the Lady Bulldogs. Megan Lymer, Taylor Baca and Haley Hancock were all three for three. Dallas Zamora was two for two, and Richelyn Villanueva and Mariah Flickinger were one for one. Jaleisa Hayes was two for four and Karly Gilbert was one for three.
The Lady Bulldogs were slated to play at Show Low today (March 7) and will host Snowflake on Friday.
