Margaret Willis Hamblin, 92, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012, in Tempe. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 23, at the McQueen Building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 17817 S. McQueen in Chandler, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. The interment will be at 12 noon on Saturday, March 24, in Snowflake.

Born in Snowflake on Feb. 6, 1920, to Joseph Stratton Willis and Wilmirth Flake Willis, Margaret married J Dudley Hamblin on July 29, 1937. They resided for a short time in St. Johns, raised their family in Phoenix and retired to Snowflake about 20 years ago.

She was one of the last living grandchildren of William Jordan Flake, who founded Snowflake in 1878.

Margaret loved her family dearly.

Possessing great faith in God and in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, Margaret served in many church callings over the years. She enjoyed music (including singing with her lovely soprano voice), giving gifts, visiting, reading and helping her loved ones be prepared.

Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Montgomery and Suzanne Heninger; her sons, Robert Hamblin, Duane Hamblin and Dennis Hamblin; 35 grandchildren; 96 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years and by three of her children, Joseph Hamblin, Julia Larson and Bruce Hamblin.
