Robert Morris Canfield passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at his home in Snowflake. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 1, at the Silver Creek Mortuary, located at 745 Paper Mill Road in Taylor Arizona. Interment will take place on Monday, April 2, at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor.
Throughout his life he lived many places, including Casa Grande, Wyoming, South Dakota and the past five years in Snowflake.
Robert served as a corporal in the Army and fought in the Korean War. He separated from the service on June 7, 1952.
He later retired and loved to stay busy.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Gwen L. Canfield; three sons, James Auther Canfield (Pam) of Columbia, N.C., Richard Thomas Canfield of Dewey and Charles Williams Canfield (Virginia) of Chandler; four daughters, Leona Robbin Savage (Danny J.) of Taylor, Kathy Lynn Ellison (Carl) of Fayettville, Ark., Linda Faye Oliver (Ernie) of Coolidge and Carol Louise Crider (Jack) of Casa Grande; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Bill, Art and Ben; and three sisters, Milly, Bess and Mary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Morris Canfield and Herminia.
