Donald C. Dowd, 78, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012, in Flagstaff. Funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock this afternoon (April 4) at First Assembly of God Church in Winslow, with Rev. Alfred Nettles officiating. The services will be preceded by a visitation from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Desert View Cemetery in Winslow.
He was born in Rensselaer, Ind., on Dec. 18, 1933. He was a conductor for BNSF for 35 years, retiring in 1998.
Donald loved the Lord and taught adult bible study at First Assembly of God. He loved hunting and fishing, and loved his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Rita J. Dowd; sons, Don, Greg, Billy, Cardon and Kevin; daughters, Kathy, Celia, Tammie and Tina; a sister, Norma L. Ondo; a brother, Ron Dowd; 21 grandchildren; and approximately 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vergie Odetta Dowd, and his father, Carl Everett Dowd.
Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
