William Craig Greene, 59, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, at Calvary Community, located at 311 S. First East St. in Snowflake.
He was born on April 28, 1952, in Kansas City, Mo. After moving to Aurora, Colo., with his family, he attended South Junior High School and graduated from William C. Hinkley High School in 1970. On Feb. 14, 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, Sharan Manchester. They joyfully celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary this past Valentine’s Day.
He was a contractor most of his life, and owned several construction companies in Colorado, Nebraska and, most recently, W. Craig Contracting, LLC, in Snowflake. Craig served as a police officer in Alliance, Neb., and was a long standing member and qualified speaker for the Gideon’s International. He had been on several mission trips to Romania, Japan, Mexico and Guatemala. In June 2010, Craig was ordained through Calvary Chapel in Snowflake.
Craig has touched so many lives and been an inspiration to all who knew him. His strong faith in God has been the source of joy and hope as he held on to God’s promises. While he will be greatly missed, we have the blessed assurance of knowing we will one day see him again.
Survivors include his wife, Sharan Greene; their daughter, Liberty Chouinard (Chad), with their two children, Dylan and Ali, as well as their son, William “Caleb” Greene and Caleb’s fiancé, Kyla. He is also survived by his sister, Ranee’ Sullivan.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary, and both parents, James G. and Ruby “Lucy” Greene.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Craig’s memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kan. 66675 or 1-877-832-6997 (tell them it is in memory of William Craig Greene) or Hospice of the Valley.
