Mary Louise Pierce, 77, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012, in Show Low. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Show Low.
She was born May 18, 1934, in Burbank, Ohio, to Latt Wellman and Effie Hooser Wellman.
Mary was the chief operator for the phone company in Holbrook, which was known as Western States Phone Company, later Contel, and finally GTE. After working as the chief operator she went back to the board, where she worked until she retired.
She was a devout member of Jehovah’s Witness Congregation in Show Low.
Survivors include her husband, George “Ed” Pierce of Show Low; four children, Diane Franks (Roger) Adams and William “Bill” (Kathy) Franks, both of Eagar, Larry (Michelle) Pierce of Prescott Valley and Steven R. Pierce of Flagstaff; a brother, Charles R. Wellman of Brinnen, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel of Show Low was in charge of the arrangements.
