Deborah “Debbie” Donna Hawkins, 59, was called home to be with her Father in Heaven and her husband Ken on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, in Phoenix. Memorial services will be held at 11 o’clock this morning (June 13) at the First Southern Baptist Church in Overgaard.
She was born on April 15, 1953, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Donald Chester and Margaret Irene (Kreiger) Sauberan.
Debbie married her sweetheart, Kenneth Charles Hawkins III, on Sept. 11, 1971. They had three beautiful children and nine grandchildren.
Debbie was loved by her many friends and co-workers in the Heber-Overgaard area, and her smile and twinkling eyes will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She truly was devoted to her children, and completely selfless with her time, talents and energy. Time spent with her family was never wasted to Debbie, as she loved to spend time with and spoil her many grandchildren!
Survivors include her son, Kenneth (Barbara) Hawkins; two daughters, Melissa (Gerran) Mayo and Heather (Aaron) Simmons; nine grandchildren, Summer, Ashlyn, Tristan and Brennan Hawkins, Audriana, Zachary and Bryce Mayo, and Arik and Keira Simmons.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ken in 2011, as well as her parents and three brothers.
