Nina Fay Dixson went home to be with Jesus on Friday, June 22, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 6, at Holbrook First Assembly of God.
Nina was born Dec. 6, 1930, in Nebo, Ill., to Mahulda (Church) and James Shufelt. They moved to Nebraska when Nina was 2. She grew up and graduated from high school in Carroll, Neb. She had four sisters, Nellie, Florence, Mable and her twin Ina.
On March 5, 1955, she married Ron Dixson. They spent 57 wonderful years together and raised six children, Vi Novak of Omaha, Neb., Dean Dixson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Nancy Serra of St. Louis, Mo., and Sue, Gene and Deneen Dixson, all of Holbrook. Ron and Nina moved to Arizona in 1978 and soon settled in Holbrook.
She was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Nina was a wonderful wife, mother, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, great-great-grandma, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by her friends and loving family.
Survivors include her husband, Ron; her six children; her grandchildren Tammy (Tom) Crawford, Tonja (Jeremy) Zinn, Joshua (Amber) Serra, Justin (Jodi) Dixson, Preston (LaVina) Dixson, Daren Dixson, Kristyn Nash, Terrun Dixson and Megan Dixson; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
