The Bucket of Blood Races, held July 7 as part of Holbrook’s Wild West Days, drew a total of 24 runners in the half-marathon, 16 runners in the 10K race, 14 runners in the two-mile fun run and 27 competitors in the bike race. Overall winners included Bryan Sedlock and Danae Halliday for the half-marathon, Justin Richards and Lucinda Kinlicheenie for the 10K, Dillon Nez Kiah Demuth for the two mile fun run, and Dave Goedecke and Katie Fernau for the bike race. The winner of the Fat Tire bicycle raffle was Stacy Nowell of Holbrook.

The runners and their times for the male division of the half-marathon included Bryan Sedlock, 29, Mesa, 1:25:08; Nicholas Sheffield, 22, Laguna Niguel, Calif., 1:36:38; Brian J. Miller, 29, Joseph City, 1:46:18; T.J. Love, 32, Phoenix, 1:47:35; John Hulton, 47, South Burrough, Mass., 1:56:14; Timothy Larkin, 41, Glendale, 1:57:58; Michael Johnson, 50, Snowflake, 2:07:10; Jake Tapaha, 20, Gold Canyon, 2:09:09; John Harvell, 28, Phoenix, 2:09:14; and Daniel Ponce, 31, Phoenix, 2:37:23.

In the female division, Danae Halliday, 28, led the pack with a time of 1:47:18; followed by Rebecca Fite, 28, Birmingham, Ala., 1:56:17; Dixie Dixon, 34, Mesa, 1:56:20; Lana Shumway, 31, Mesa, 1:56:21; Mindy Buell, 29, Mesa, 1:59:07; Luserito Gaytan, 20, Kingman, 2:02:12; Kay Waxler,
