He was born in Central Lake, Mich., on the kitchen table on Dec. 17, 1947, to Paul and Wilma Matyas. Larry was the oldest of five children.
Larry and his wife Patti own the Carriage House in Snowflake.
He was a member of the LDS church, and was on the Snowflake Town Council, the Northland Pioneer College Foundation Board, the Snowflake Fire Board and the Silver Creek Senior Citizens Board. He had a double degree in criminal justice and business administration.
He loved having his family around him, they are most important in his life. They are sure that when he entered heaven, his first words were, “Just another day in Paradise.” Larry is truly now “perfect.”
