Employees of the Holbrook Unified School District will be participating in their third annual Climb to Conquer Cancer and invite members of the Holbrook community to join their team. The school district team presently has 31 participants encompassing each of the school sites, as well as community members.
Climb to Conquer Cancer is a unique one-day event that offers everyone in a community the opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Climb to Conquer Cancer represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported and that one day cancer will be eliminated.
The Climb to Conquer Cancer begins at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Arizona Snowbowl outside Flagstaff. The hike is up the Snowbowl road, and is a little over 6.7 miles. Event registration for ages 12 and up is $40, while registration for children 3 to 11 is $15. Children 3 and under are free. Each person signed up will get a T-shirt and a wristband. The wristband will get you a meal at the top provided by Outback Steakhouse. It consists of chicken, rolls, salad and a drink.
