Adell was born on March 17, 1924, and raised on the Pearce ranch and dry farm in Linden. She was the fourth of 10 children born to James Lowell and Ione Rogers Pearce. She attended school in Shumway, Linden and Snowflake. Her 88th birthday party was held at the old Shumway School House. Adell and her siblings often rode to school, two to three per horse, five miles uphill both ways.
She married Edward L. “Bud” Lee on March 17, 1946. Their marriage started off in the log woods at Cheve-lon Canyon. They lived on the banks of Silver Creek for most of their married lives. They are the parents of five children, Guy (Laurie) Lee, Merle (Jim) Dunaway, Carol Lee (deceased), Anita (Jeff) Mills and Marsha (Cauy) Washburn. She has 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Adell worked as a riveter at Williams Air Force Base and Seattle Sea Tech constructing aircraft during World War II. She managed the cafeteria for the Snowflake School District for many years.
She was self-sufficient, grew beautiful flowers and a huge garden from which she canned, never wasting a thing. She enjoyed the outdoors. Adell milked cows and made the best cheese, butter and cottage cheese. She was a wonderful cook and served many delicious meals, including homemade bread and rolls. No one left her table hungry!
Adell was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Primary presi-dent, working in the Relief Society and Young Women’s, and sharing her beautiful voice in many choirs.
She was very adventurous and loved long rides in the beautiful mountains.
Adell was a true all around “champion” in the arena of life and will be missed by all who associated with her. Special thanks go to all those who shared their unconditional love for our dear sweet mother, Adell Pearce Lee.
Survivors include her children; and six sisters and one brother, Myrna Merrill, Clea Adams, Buena (Ross) Heppler, Vivian (Arthur) Adams, Ione-Babe Whipple, Leone (Doy) Reidhead and Joy T. (Beth) Pearce.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Roger and Dean Pearce; her daughter, Carol; and her dear husband.
Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor was in charge of the arrangements.
