Marie John, 101, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, in Flagstaff. Funeral services will be held today (Aug. 10) at the First Presbyterian Church in Leupp. Interment will follow at the family plot.
Marie was born in Leupp on July 1, 1911.
She was a beloved Christian, mother and grandmother, who left a strong legacy of love for family. She was an expert in weaving and quilting.
Survivors include her daughters, Gladys Dick, Hope Harrison, Cindy Machen, Alice Largo, Mary Tabor, Marie Woodty, Marylou Wright and Bessie McCabe; her sons, Thomas John, Eddie John, Harrison John and Leo John; and a combined total of 283 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie John; and her parents, Dan and Bessie Yazzie.
Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
