Alex Mariano Montes, 31, entered into rest on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, in Flagstaff. Family and friends services will be held in celebration of his life at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Holbrook Elks Lodge.
He was born in Holbrook on Nov. 5, 1980, the son of Regina and Anacleto Montes.
Alex lived in Holbrook all his life and graduated from Holbrook High School.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and hanging out with family and friends. He enjoyed watching the Arizona Cardinals and old wrestling videos.
Alex spent his last days with his sisters Brenda and Noemi, as well as some close friends.
He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his mother, Regina Montes; his father, Anacleto Montes; his sisters, Noemi and Brenda Montes; his grandfather, Roger Montes; Aunt Becky and Uncle Donald Naranjo and children; and Uncle Joe and Aunt Mary Montes, and Tabitha Montes.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Zella Ulibarri Moyta; his grandmother, Matilda Montes; and his grandfather, Anacleto Montes.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook was in charge of the arrangements.
