Adding to the fun of a three-man scramble tournament on the 18-hole Snowflake Municipal Golf Course is a fund-raiser supporting three New Life Pregnancy Centers in Navajo and Apache counties. Sponsored for the third year by Arizona Baptist Children’s Services, the tourney helps moms and tots at NLPC in Snowflake, Holbrook and St. Johns. Overall, the fund-raising event is in its 12h year, previously sponsored by Desert Pines Baptist Association, Snowflake. Golfers with all levels of skill and enthusiasm are welcome.
Tee off time is 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Snowflake course, located at 90 N. Country Club Drive. Advance tickets for the tournament are available by calling Arizona Baptist Children’s Services at (928) 536-4760. Golf teams are also welcome to register at the time of the event.
The entry fee of $45 includes cart rental, green fee and lunch at The Skillet.
In addition to a variety of door prizes for individuals, ABCS is giving awards for the following: best over-all team score, longest putt, longest drive and closest to the pin.
Snowflake New Life Pregnancy Center Director Bonnie Smith noted that the tournament was moved up to September to attract more summer visitors.
Snowflake, St. Johns and Holbrook New Life Pregnancy Centers provide education, counseling, classes and material help as needed to their clients. Families find NLPC a source for extra diapers, new and gently used baby clothing, and community referrals. The three NLPC facilities in Navajo and Apache counties are part of a network of 12 centers across Arizona established and run by Arizona Baptist Children’s Services. The statewide mission is, “To provide hope and care to hurting children and families through Christ-centered min-istries.”
