The Lady Roadrunners picked up an impressive win in their first outing of the volleyball season.
Traveling with a young squad to Window Rock, which is always a difficult place to play, the Lady Birds, battled tough and came home with a 3-1 win.
On the road again the next day, Holbrook ran into a more difficult opponent in Blue Ridge, which, when combined with back-to-back long road trips, saw the Lady Birds dominated, losing 3-0 to even their season mark at 1-1.
Having several games at the Payson tournament over the Labor Day weekend, the young team will have had some time to gel before hosting their home court season opening matches today (Sept. 5) when Joseph City visits and again on Thursday when Snowflake comes to town. On Saturday they will be at Coconino playing in a one-day tournament.
