The Winslow City Council met in a special meeting at noon on Tuesday to hold a public hearing regarding annexation of the land on which city water tanks are located.
No one spoke during the hearing, which was the first of several requirements for the city to annex the land. According to City Attorney Dale Patton, the city owns the property and the council must sign papers stating the value of the property and that they favor annexation by the city.
After the public hearing, the council went into executive session to consider a request from City Manager Jim Ferguson to participate in the Smartworks retire/rehire program. When they returned to regular session, council members voted unanimously to table the item.
