“I am here to help spread the word on some of the programs NACOG (Northern Arizona Council of Gov-ernments) does offer for home ownership,” said Terry Nagle at the Sept. 5 Taylor Town Council meeting.
He noted that the biggest program they have right now is foreclosures. “The best program is ‘Save My Home Arizona,’” he said, which offers up to $100,000 to unemployed and underemployed homeowners to sub-sidize mortgage payments for two years to help homeowners get back on their feet.
Nagel said this program also has short sale provisions.
“Arizona is one of the hardest hit states, so there’s plenty of funding available,” he said.
More information is available online at www.azhousing.gov or call 1-877-448-1211. Nagle can be con-tacted at (928) 289-6020.
NACOG also offers Foreclosure Prevention Counseling services free of charge. Nagle also advised area residents to avoid foreclosure scams, many of which seek $2,500 to $3,000 up front.
