Holbrook’s cross country teams fared well at the Shane C. Morris Invitational held Saturday at Woodland Lake Park in Lakeside.
In the varsity boy’s race Holbrook placed third in the seven-team competition, finishing just three points behind first place Blue Ridge and two away from second place Sedona.
Mark Clark finished seventh in the 49-runner field with a time of 18:49. Kyle Chee was eighth just a sec-ond later. Marcos Clark placed ninth in 18:57; Zach Tsosie, 13th in 19:13; Coy Begay, 21st in 19:58; Ryan Bia, 30th in 20:54; and Keaton Clark, 32nd in 20:57.
Holbrook runners won both junior varsity races, with Triston Zahne claiming the boy’s open race in a time of 20:52, and Miya Tom winning the girl’s open division race crossing the line in 24:24.
Charmayne Yazzie finished fifth in the same race and Morgan Zahne was 18th in the 30-runner field.
Roy Begay finished fourth in the boy’s open race.
Holbrook didn’t enter anyone in the girl’s varsity race.
