The Winslow High School Class of 1982 is sponsoring a one-mile walk at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Standin’ on the Corner Festival for Cindy McGuire and other victims of violence.
Cindy McGuire is a native of Winslow and in need of help. She was critically injured in a home invasion in September 2010. She was shot five times by one of the intruders, who also shot and killed her boyfriend. She has had to undergo several surgeries and spent months in the hospital. She has yet to return to work because of her wounds and physical condition.
Due to the extensive medical bills, her classmates would like to assist her and help with her daily living expenses. They would like to be able to help her until she is able to get better and back on her feet.
The Class of 1982 would appreciate people coming to the walk on Standin’ on the Corner weekend. Support will be greatly appreciated.
