Heading into the final week of the regular season both Snowflake soccer squads have their sights set on post-season play.
The Lady Lobos wrapped up last week with a 4-3-1 overall mark, but were still ranked No. 2 in the power point standings. They have dropped their past three regular season matches, including two tough ones last week. Last Tuesday they fell to St. Johns 2-1, then dropped a match to Show Low just two days later by the same mar-gin.
After hosting No. 9 Payson on Tuesday, they will finish the regular season at home hosting fourth ranked Round Valley on Thursday, Oct. 18. The Lady Lobos will be in the state tournament, which gets underway next weekend.
The boy’s soccer team is also headed to post-season play. They ended last week ranked No. 6 in the standings with a 6-2-1 record after battling to a 2-2 tie with Show Low last Wednesday. Like the Lady Lobos, Snowflake were slated to travel to face No. 5 Payson on Tuesday, then will wrap up the regular season hosting No. 11 Round Valley on Thursday.
The Snowflake squads will know exactly where they will be placed in the bracket once the regular season concludes this weekend.
