A tractor-trailer accident in Winslow has left one person dead and another hospitalized. At approximately 8:08 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 17, the Winslow Police Department responded to the scene of the accident on the rear lot of the business formally known as 3B’S Truck Stop in the 2200 block of North Park Drive.
After providing emergency medical attention and interviewing witnesses, it was determined that the driver of a tractor-trailer Tremurici Romica, 60, of Scottsdale, struck two people, later identified as Heather Betoney, 36, and Sterling Long, 33, both of Winslow. Betoney was pronounced dead at the scene. Long was transported to Little Colorado Medical Center in Winslow and later air transported to Flagstaff for treatment of leg injuries.
No further information on the incident will be available until the completed investigative reports have been reviewed by the Navajo County Attorney’s Office.
