In celebration of National Native American Heritage Month, which serves to promote awareness of and appreciation for history and culture of American Indians, cultural demonstrators will be at Painted Desert Inn National Historic Landmark over three long weekends in November.
The cultural demonstrations will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the following days:
* Friday through Sunday, Nov. 2-4, the Goodluck family.
* Friday, Sunday and Monday, Nov. 9, 11 and 12, the Goodluck family, Navajo silversmiths.
* Saturday, Nov. 10, Alice Hawthorne and Angeline Murphy, Navajo weaver and jewelry maker.
* Friday, Nov. 16, the Goodluck family, Navajo silversmiths.
* Saturday, Nov. 17, Jonathan and Harriett Mike, Navajo silversmiths.
* Sunday, Nov. 18, the Goodluck family, Navajo silversmiths.
Also found at Painted Desert Inn are several striking murals from Hopi artist Fred Kabotie, which can be viewed during normal business hours.
