It’s nearly time to turn on the Christmas lights and celebrate the 12 Days of Christmas.
The Snowflake-Taylor Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to participate in a countdown to turn on the lights and welcome Santa to the community at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, at Main Street and First North in Snowflake.
Santa will arrive at the historic Freeman Home, where he and Mrs. Santa will visit with the children and give them each a goodie bag. There will be cookies and hot chocolate along with entertainment.
Nativities will be on display at the LDS Main Street Church Cultural Hall at 48 N. Main St.
This is the first day of the 12 Days of Christmas sponsored by the Snowflake Heritage Foundation.
On Sunday, Dec. 2, a Christmas program will be presented at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church, 1655 S. Main in Snowflake.
On Monday, Dec. 3, beginning at 6 p.m., take a drive down Frontier Drive to enjoy the lights and entertainment.
On Tuesday, Dec. 4, a Christmas program will be presented at 7 p.m. at Calvary Community Bible Fellow-ship, 311 S. First East in Snowflake.
No activities are planned on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
On Thursday, Dec. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. the Smith Memorial Home, 201 W. Center in Snowflake, will be open for tours. The Taylor Museum on Main and Center streets, and the Pioneer Museum at 14 S. Fourth East will also be open.
On Friday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m., the Taylor/Snowflake Grand Ball will be held at the Taylor LDS Stake Center, 309 W. Willow. The annual event includes dinner, a program and a dance.
On Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7 and 8, the Snowflake-Taylor Chamber of Commerce Christmas Market will be held at Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church Community Center.
On Sunday, Dec. 9, an LDS Church performance will be held at 7 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel in Snow-flake, 48 N. Main.
On Monday, Dec. 10, a Christmas Program will be presented at 7 p.m. at the Valley View Baptist Church, 1212 S. Main St. in Snowflake.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 11 and 12, the Snowflake High School instrumental and choir concerts will be held at 7 p.m. at the SHS Auditorium.
On Thursday, Dec. 13, the Snowflake Junior High School Music Concert will be held at 7 p.m. at the SHS Auditorium.
On Friday, Dec. 14, performances of the Christmas Spectacular will be held at 3, 5:30 and 8 p.m. Come and relive history in the Old Snowflake Theatre, where there will be entertainment, a movie and free popcorn at the Snowflake Social Hall Little Theater. The cost is $2 per person. Wendy Bloomfield is in charge of the entertainment.
