Hosting four teams in a multiple meet Nov. 28, Holbrook’s wrestling team won three of the four duals, losing only to Snowflake on the night. The Roadrunners defeated Mogollon 60-21, Piñon 84-0 and Globe 50-30. They fell to the Lobos, 45-30.
In the Mogollon match, the Mustangs won four of the seven matches completed, but Holbrook was able to field a full squad and the Mustangs gave up too many forfeits, giving Holbrook seven additional wins.
Against Piñon the Roadrunners dominated, picking up nine wins and five forfeits with no losses.
Facing the Tigers from Globe, Holbrook again wrestled well, winning seven matches with five losses and two forfeit wins.
Holbrook came away with just five wins against eight losses and a forfeit win in their match with the Lobos.
Individually, 12 Holbrook wrestlers posted winning records. Sam Plumb was 1-3 with a forfeit win. Theron Johns went 4-0 with a forfeit. Levi McClellan was 3-1. Caleb McClellan also went 3-1, receiving one forfeit. James Ramirez went 3-1, as did Michael McMonigal. Jedde Bowman went 2-2 with two forfeit wins. Joseph Herrera was 3-1 with two forfeit wins. Magnus Mortensen won his only match, going 1-0. Kevin Self went 1-2. Nikko Ferniza was 4-0 with one forfeit win. Shem Bowman went 3-1 with one forfeit win. Wade Biakeddy went 1-0 with a forfeit win. CJ Plumb went 2-1. Mathew Gishi was 3-1, with all three wins coming via forfeit.
