The Lady Lobos evened their early season record at 1-1 with a road loss at Round Valley Nov. 27.
Snowflake played well through the first three periods, but saw a two-point lead late in the third dissipate into a large fourth quarter deficit, eventually ending in a 61-37 loss.
“We played well for the first three quarters, but some back-to-back turnovers got us into trouble. Also, we really struggled from the free throw line, shooting just 13 for 35,” said Coach Don Godfrey.
The Lady Lobos trailed by four after the first and by just two at the half. Round Valley pulled away in the fourth outscoring Snowflake 26-7 over the final eight minutes of play.
Caitlin Christensen and Jessica Neff netted 10 points each. Christensen grabbed nine boards with Neff securing seven rebounds. Brylee Coplan added 8. Matti Scott hit for 3, as did Katie Larson, who also dished out 4 assists. Brittlee Merrell finished with 2 points and Kadi Johnson scored 1. The squad picked up 13 steals, but offset that by committing 35 turnovers.
